THOSE HEROES THAT SHED THEIR BLOOD & LOST THEIR LIVES... YOU ARE NOW LYING IN THE SOIL OF A FRIENDLY COUNTRY. THEREFORE REST IN PEACE. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE JOHNNIES & MEHMETS TO US WHERE THEY LIE SIDE BY SIDE HERE IN THIS COUNTRY OF OURS... YOU, THE MOTHERS, WHO SENT THEIR SONS FROM FARAWAY COUNTRIES WIPE AWAY YOUR TEARS; YOUR SONS ARE NOW LYING IN OUR BOSOM & ARE IN PEACE. AFTER HAVING LOST THEIR LIVES ON THIS LAND THEY HAVE BECOME OUR SONS AS WELL.

Day 01 : Thursday 21st April / Arrival in Istanbul
Welcome to Turkey. Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel in Istanbul. Once you have checked into your hotel (Please note check in times vary between hotels but are normally no earlier than noon) you have the rest of the day free to explore Istanbul & you will meet your guide later that evening who will give you information about the tour & answer any questions you might have.

Day 02 : Friday 22nd April / Istanbul
After breakfast, we visit the Egyptian Market built in 1664, the perfect place to shop for herbal medicine, Turkish delight, spices, teas, caviar & many other flavours. We then embark on a private boat which will take you to both European & Asian shores of the city. Alongside million dollar mansions we will see the two bridges linking Europe & Asia by road, as well as the seaside summer palaces & unique wooden houses not to mention the natural beauty of the forests above. From there on we will drive you by coach over the Intercontinental Bridge to Camlica Hill on the Asian side. Camlica is the highest hill in Asiatic Istanbul where you will enjoy breathtaking views of two shores.

Day 03 : Saturday 23rd April / Istanbul / Gallipoli Guided Tour
After an early breakfast we drive to the World War I Battlefield of Gallipoli stopping along the way to pick up refreshments for lunch. You will also have an opportunity to watch a movie about Gallipoli so you get a feel for the type of people who fought in this war & to help you picture conditions almost a century ago. This afternoon on a fully guided tour, you will visit the Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Hell Spit Cemetery, Lone Pine, The Nek & Chunuk Bair War memorial. Your guide will reveal stories of battle woes & will bring alive the legend of the Anzac's. By visiting the peninsula on the 23rd April we get to spend more time exploring without the crowds from other tours that arrive on the 24th.

Day 04 : Sunday 24th April / Relax & Prepare for Anzac Day at Gallipoli
Sleep till late & rise to a full breakfast. Then the day is yours to partake in number of the many activities offered at this resort. Activities include; bathing in the waters of the outdoor pool, relaxing at the beach. Play football, tennis, basketball, volleyball or just strolling around the gardens & parks. Make sure you get plenty of rest because ANZAC day will be a long busy day. A buffet dinner will be served so you can fill up before departing for Gallipoli late afternoon.

Please Note: We recommend bringing a small day pack with you to carry things around during the overnight stay & also during the day on the 25th April. You will leave your main luggage in your room in Edremit so will not have access to it until the evening of the 25th when we return there.

Day 05 : Monday 25th April / ANZAC Day (Gallipoli to Edremit)
At first light the day begins with the Dawn Service held at the ANZAC Commemorative Site, which will be followed by the Australian & New Zealand memorial services held at Lone Pine & Chunuk Bair respectively. Today is the reason you came to Turkey, to commemorate the sacrifice your forefathers have made. Emotions run high & this evening you will travel back to our hotel in Edremit, arriving there in the late evening.

Day 06 : Tuesday 26th April / Edremit to Kusadasi via Bergama
After waking feeling recharged we depart for Bergama where your guide will show you around the Acropolis Ruins of the ancient Greek City of Pergamon. There will be time for a lunch break before we continue on the way to the seaside town of Kusadasi. As this area boasts a reputation as one of the most important carpet weaving regions we will stop at Selcuk for a demonstration of this ancient & traditional craft. After you have checked in to your Kusadasi hotel you may have an optional traditional Turkish bath to be washed & massaged by a pair of expert hands & the rest of the day is yours to relax. Overnight Kusadasi.

Day 07 : Wednesday 27th April / Ephesus
After breakfast today we visit Ephesus, one of the best preserved Greco-Roman Cities in the world enabling one to genuinely 'soak in' the atmosphere of Roman times. Entering  through the Magnesia Gate you begin a slow downhill walk with your guide into the ruins of this ancient city. After lunch, we visit the House of Virgin Mary where she is said to be brought here by St. John & have spent the last of her days. The tour also includes a visit to the remains of Artemis Temple which was one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World & finally we visit Sirince, an old Greek Orthodox village most famous for its local wine, olive oil & 19th century architecture. Overnight Kusadasi.

Day 08 : Thursday 28th April / Flight to Istanbul (option of extending)
After breakfast our tour finishes & we bid farewell to our new found friends. Transfer to Izmir Airport for Istanbul flight. Transfer to hotel upon arrival. Overnight Istanbul.

Day 09 : Friday 29th April / End of Services
Depending on your flight time, check-out (12:00) from hotel & remainder of day will be at leisure till your transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for your homebound flight.
