  Istanbul on Foot
Day 1:  Arrival in Istanbul
Upon arrival to Istanbul Ataturk Airport, you will be met by an Ayala Travel representative and transferred to your hotel. You have the afternoon and evening free to relax and/or check out the city. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Sultanahmet.

Day 2:  Istanbul on foot
After breakfast meeting tour guide at hotel lobby and begin with a stroll to the Hippodrome, the former heart of Constantinople's political and sporting life. Next visit the Blue Mosque. With its six minarets and a great cascade of domes, the mosque is a worthy sibling to Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) just a few minutes' walk to the north.

Hagia Sophia was built on the site of Byzantium's acropolis by Emperor Justinian (527-65 AD) in 537 AD and was considered the greatest church in Christendom until St. Peter's Basilica was built in Rome a thousand years later.

Continue on to Topkapi Palace, where you will enjoy a delightful lunch at the courtyards. Then exploring Home of the Ottoman Sultans for nearly 400 years, Topkapi (Palace of the Cannon Gate) was the seraglio, the heart of the vast Ottoman Empire, ruled by the monarch who lived in Topkapi's hundreds of rooms with hundreds of concubines, children and servants.

After the Palace we will then walk to the famous Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi) with over 4,000 shops located in a maze of lanes and alleys. It is filled with thousands of curios, including carpets, fabrics, clothing, furniture and gold jewellery. A short walk along one of the main alleys will provide you with a glimpse of this amazing place. Who knows maybe you will jump on a flying carpet?.

Our last stop will be Cemberlitas, or the Hooped Column of Constantine. This column was the centrepiece in the Forum of Constantine, erected on May 11, 330 AD by Constantine the Great to celebrate the designation of Constantinople as the new capital of the Roman Empire.

Day 3:  Istanbul
Free day ay leisure. Or you may ask our office for other options while enjoying perhaps a Turkish Coffee this time with us.
