Day 01 : Arrival in Istanbul Upon arrival to Istanbul Ataturk Airport & clearing customs, you will be met & accompanied during your transfer to the hotel. Overnight Istanbul. Day 02 : Istanbul We will leave hotel in the morning to visit the spectacular Blue Mosque decorated with beautiful 17th century Iznik tiles. Then stroll around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were once held. Continue with the Hagia Sophia, an early Christian church, later converted to a mosque under Ottoman rule. After lunch break, we visit Dolmabahce Palace. Day 03 : Istanbul A short drive to Spice Market, Egyptian Bazaar one of the world’s largest spice bazaars since 1665. Soon after, we embark on the Bosphorus ferry. After lunch break in the afternoon, we will visit the Topkapi Palace Museum, the residence of the legendary Ottoman Sultans. We will complete this historical day with a visit to the Grand Bazaar. Return to hotel with evening at leisure. Day 04 : Istanbul / Cappadocia Early breakfast & check-out from hotel, transfer to Istanbul Airport for Kayseri flight. Start with a gentle hike through orchards, unusual volcanic rock formations & Pasabagi where you will find the world known fairy chimneys. Then continue on to Goreme Open-Air Museum from early Christianity. Our last stop for the day will be the natural rock castle at Uchisar. Overnight Cappadocia. Day 05 : Cappadocia / flight to Izmir (Ephesus) Today we visit Derinkuyu Underground City where an entire community of Christians lived in a system of subterranean caves & tunnels for centuries without being noticed. Afterwards a short hike through the green Ihlara Valley. Stop in Belisirma village for lunch break & then continue on to Selime for a panoramic view. Returning to hotel for refreshment & picking up luggage to board on an overnight coach to Selcuk or Kusadasi. Optional: Flight from Kayseri to Izmir & transfer to Kusadasi. Day : 06 Ephesus / flight to Istanbul Today we visit the Ancient City of Ephesus. After lunch, we depart to visit the House of Virgin Mary where she is said to be brought here by St. John & have spent the last of her days. The tour also includes a visit to the remains of Artemis Temple & if time allows a visit to the old Greek Village of Sirince. Transfer to Izmir Airport for Istanbul flight (1hr), transfer to your Istanbul hotel upon arrival. Day 07 : Istanbul / Cairo Check-out from hotel & remainder of day will be at leisure till your transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for Istanbul Cairo flight. Arrival in the Land of the Pharaohs, at Cairo International airport you will be welcomed & assisted through immigration & customs by our representative, then escorted to your hotel. Day 08 : Cairo Start your day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum where you will find artifacts of the Pharaonic era & the treasures of king Tutankhamen's tomb. After lunch, drive to the Citadel of Saladin & visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Enjoy a walking tour of the largest 13th century covered oriental market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Day 09 : Cairo A scenic drive will take you to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of United Upper & Lower Egypt, & then visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. After lunch, continue to the Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, which has stood for the last 5000 years. Overnight Cairo. Day 10 : Cairo / Aswan Morning flight to Aswan; or you may choose our optional tour (Abu Simbel tour), situated 280km south of Aswan. The two temples of Abu Simbel are the most magnificent temples in the world. Fly back to Aswan, upon arrival you will be escorted to your luxury cruise ship where you will spend the next 3 nights / 4 days, overnight in Aswan. Day 11 : Aswan / Kom Ombo / Luxor Early sail to Kom Ombo & visit Kom Ombo Temple (the Ptolemaic Temple of Sobek & Haroeries), sail to Edfu & visit Edfu Temple also known as the Temple of Horus, the falcon-god, (237 B.C.) considered the best-preserved temple in Ancient Egypt & the second largest after the Temple of Karnak. Sail to Luxor & overnight in Luxor. Day 12 : Luxor Visit the West Bank necropolis including the Valley of the Kings, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshipsut at Deir El Bahari & the Colossi of Memnon, back to the cruise for lunch, afternoon proceed to your East bank visit of Luxor, visit Karnak & Luxor Temples, a centuries-old city of pylons, hypostyle halls, colossal statues, shrines & obelisks, overnight in Luxor. Day 13 : Luxor / Cairo After Breakfast, transfer to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo, upon arrival transfer to your hotel, afternoon drive to Old Cairo, where early Judaism & Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue & Saint Sergius Church. Continue to the Coptic Museum, Truly one of the most interesting places to visit in Egypt is the Coptic Museum, back to you hotel for overnight. Day 14 : Cairo Free day at leisure. Overnight Cairo. Day 15 : Cairo Departure Breakfast at hotel, check out & transfer to Cairo Airport International Departure Terminal for homebound or onward flight. |
