Day 1 Istanbul Upon arrival to Istanbul Ataturk Airport & clearing customs, you will be met by one of our staff at the exit gate of arrivals hall & transfer to your hotel. If time allows, you will have an orientation walk with one of our guides around Sultanahmet by evening. Day 2 Istanbul Pick up from your hotel to visit the spectacular Blue Mosque decorated with beautiful 17th century Iznik tiles. Then stroll around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were once held. Continue with the Hagia Sophia / St. Sophia Museum. After lunch break, we will take you across the worlds only intercontinental bridge over the Bosphorus to Camlica which offers 360° panoramic views of Istanbul. We then visit Dolmabahce Palace, with more than 340 rooms the Imperial Residence of the last six Sultans, is sure to fascinate its visitors. End of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel. Day 3 Istanbul Free day in Istanbul. Day 4 Flight to Izmir - Ephesus - Kusadasi After breakfast early check out & transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for Izmir flight (55min). On your arrival we drive south to visit Ephesus, which was adorned with splendid monuments, theatres, agoras & libraries. Before lunch we will visit ruins of the Temple of Artemis. Then to The Basilica of St. John, it stands over the believed burial site of St. John, evangelist author of the 4th Gospel. We will finish the day by visiting the Last House of Virgin Mary. It is here where you will visit the humble chapel, which lies on the site of the little house where The Virgin Mary is believed to have spent her last days. Overnight in Kusadasi. Day 5 Pamukkale - Aphrodisias - Kusadasi After breakfast, we drive for 1.5 hours to reach Aphrodisias. As its name implies, it was named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of Love. The city was built near a marble quarry, which was extensively exploited in the Hellenistic & Roman periods, & sculptors in marble from Aphrodisias became famous in the Roman world. After lunch we will continue the day with visit to Pamukkale. The hot springs at Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, are in south-western Turkey. There will be free time to walk on the terraces (where allowed). Return to Kusadasi for overnight stay. Day 6 Priene - Didyma - Bodrum Check out from hotel & we drive further south to visit the most important cities of the classical period, the Ionian cities of Priene & Didyma. Lunch en-route continue to Bodrum (Ancient Halicarnassus), along Bafa Lake. Upon arrival & check in, you may want to walk into town to enjoy free time in Bodrum Castle, also known as Saint Peter’s Castle. It is a well-preserved medieval stone fortress built by Crusaders in the 15th Century. The castle grounds are also the location for the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, a showcase for the rich variety of artefacts which have been recovered from the surrounding seabed. Overnight in Bodrum. Day 7 Bodrum Free day at leisure. In Bodrum there’s no shortage of things to see & do, with something to suit all tastes. You can go swimming, diving, fishing, or sailing. You can even rent a yacht for a day & explore the Bodrum peninsula with its many islands, beaches, towns & sleepy fishing villages. Or, if you like, you can also drop in on the neighbours & take the ferry to the neighbouring Greek islands of Rhodes & Kos. Day 8 Bodrum to Marmaris by sea Check out from hotel & transfer to Bodrum Marina to embark on an unforgettable blue voyage. Welcome aboard drink with the captain, crew & other travelers. We leave the marina before noon, first stop by Karaada. The Island is famous for its hot springs & dark caves which you can swim into. After lunch, across the Gulf today we continue to the marvelous natural harbor of Cati, a lovely bay surrounded with pine trees on the south coast of the Gulf. Overnight on gulet. Day 9 Seven Islands - Kufre We sail to Seven Islands, always a popular choice, plenty of pine-clad secluded bays & secluded coves to swim or sunbath, or you may spend the rest of day by walking through the storax (liquid-amber) & pine forests. Day 10 Karacasogut After breakfast, a short cruise will bring us to Longoz bay. In the afternoon we arrive in Karacasogut. This small village is only 25 km away from Marmaris. Overnight on board. Day 11 Marmaris to Fethiye Disembarking from the gulet & transfer from Marmaris to Fethiye. Check-in to your hotel upon arrival. You may chose to spend the balance of your day in Marmaris or Fethiye. Day 12 Fethiye Free day at leisure. Day 13 Kekova - Myra - Antalya Check out from hotel & 1.5 hr drive to the Kekova area for a boat trip around the secluded bays. See the sunken cities under the crystal clear waters. Visit Simena Castle & have lunch in a small fishing village, then drive to Myra & see the Church of St. Nicholas. Transfer & overnight Antalya. Day 14 Perge - Aspendos - Antalya Full day excursion to the ancient Pamphylian, the largest city on the turquoise coast. Visit the Hellenistic & Roman cities of Perge & Aspendos. Perge being an important trade route, is also famous by the fact that; when St. Paul started his journeys, he visited Perge in 46 A.D. & preached his first sermon here. Aspendos famous for its best-preserved theater of antiquity built in the 2nd c. AD with a capacity of 20,000 people, still used today for performances. Visit the remains of a basilica, agora & one of the largest aqueducts in Anatolia. Enjoy acropolis of the city with a wonderful view of the river. Visit the award winning Antalya Museum. Day 15 Arycanda - Limyra - Antalya Drive to the mountainous region of northeastern Antalya to discover a totally different landscape. Visit villages & towns near the Taurus Mountains, as well as the ancient city of Arycanda located amid pine forests. Lunch at a trout farm, then visit the mountainous Lycian site of Limyra & the wooden storehouses in Beyler Village. Dinner in one of the famous local restaurants, overnight in Antalya Day 16 Antalya - Istanbul Free day at leisure. Transfer to Antalya Airport for evening flight to Istanbul. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. Overnight Istanbul. Day 17 Istanbul Depending on your flight time, check out & transfer to Istanbul Airport for departure. |
