Note: Istanbul Park Formula 1 Circuit is located on Asian side of Istanbul. The closest airport is 'Sabiha Gokcen' roughly 20 minutes away from the circuit & 'Ataturk Airport' which is on the European side is 1 hour drive to the event. The old town Sultanahmet & main tourist attractions are on the European side & the closest journey is about 1½ hours with private transfers. Majority accommodations are on the European side which is more convenient to visit Istanbul's attractions. May 04th : Arrival in Istanbul Upon arrival to Istanbul Ataturk Airport & clearing customs, you will be met by one of our staff at the exit gate of arrivals hall & accompanied during your transfer to the hotel. May 05th : Istanbul Breakfast at hotel, then meeting your guide at hotel lobby for a short drive to Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar) heaped with various sweets & spices is one of the world’s largest spice bazaars since 1665. Soon after, we embark on a public ferry for an unforgettable cruise along the Bosphorus, the beautiful strait that divides Europe from Asia. After lunch in the afternoon we will complete this historical day by visiting Topkapi Palace, the residence of the legendary Ottoman Sultans, now converted into a museum with its jewel encrusted treasury & elegant four courts. May 06th : Istanbul F1 Grand Prix 2011 First day of racing & qualifying. After breakfast at hotel we will transfer you the circuit with private air-conditioned vehicles. At the end of the day, we will pick you up from our meeting point for the transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. May 07th : Istanbul F1 Grand Prix 2011 Second day of racing & qualifying. After breakfast at hotel we will transfer you the circuit with private air-conditioned vehicles. At the end of the day, we will pick you up from our meeting point for the transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. May 08th : Istanbul F1 Grand Prix 2011 Race Day! After breakfast at hotel we will transfer you the circuit with private air-conditioned vehicles. At the end of the day, we will pick you up from our meeting point for the transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. May 09th : Istanbul Today you can criss-cross the centre of the city on foot on your own, taking in its modern & ancient history on foot. First visiting the spectacular Blue Mosque decorated with beautiful 17th century Iznik tiles. Then stroll around the historical Hippodrome where chariot races were once held. Continue with the Hagia Sophia which is considered as the Jewel of Byzantine architecture. Do not forget to visit the Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi) where you can shop or haggle with local merchants over unusual antiques, colourful spices, beautiful jewelry or carpets, richly textured fabrics & more. All within less then a mile distance between each other. May 10th : Istanbul Departure Depending on your flight time, check-out (12:00) from hotel & remainder of day will be at leisure till your transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for your homebound flight. |
